I’m in Miami. Alone. And not even a little bit guilty.

Apr 08, 2025
I’m writing this from sunny Miami, poolside, iced tea in hand, with zero small humans attached to me — and honestly? I’m not even a little bit guilty about it.

Because after the last few weeks — hosting my very first live event, holding space for so many women, and moving through what can only be described as one of the most intense seasons of my life — this trip? It’s not a luxury.

It’s a requirement.

I’ve cried. I’ve celebrated. I’ve crashed. I’ve had moments of “was that real life?”

And the only way I could process any of it — was to give myself space.

Not just space to think.
But space to feel.
To reconnect.
To be a woman first — not just a business owner, mom, or mentor.

And I know someone needs to hear this today:
Taking space doesn’t mean you’re selfish.
It doesn’t mean you love your kids any less.
It doesn’t mean your business will fall apart without you.

It means you are human.
It means you are worthy of rest.

It means you understand that no one wins when you’re running on fumes.

This retreat is my reset button.
My reflection space.

My reminder that I don’t have to earn rest by burning myself out first.
So no, I’m not sorry I left.
Not apologizing for filling my own cup.
And I hope you don’t either.
Because this is part of the work.

This is how we lead.
This is how we stay in it for the long game.

You don’t have to go to Miami to find space (though, 10/10 would recommend).
But maybe today’s the day you start claiming some.

You’re allowed.
You deserve it.

And no one else is going to give it to you if you don’t take it.
